    AGE Reader

    AGE Reader

The AGE Reader provides an immediate cardiovascular risk prediction and cardiovascular diagnostics for major chronic diseases, such as diabetes, cardiovascular disease and renal failure. The AGE Reader allows a non-invasive quick-test assessment of cardiovascular risk. The method is convenient, easy to use and validated.

The AGE Reader measures tissue accumulation of Advanced Glycation Endproducts (AGEs) by means of fluorescence techniques (skin autofluorescence (skin AF)). AGEs play a key role in the pathogenesis of many age-related diseases, such as diabetes, cardiovascular disease, renal failure and metabolic syndrom. By this the AGE Reader is a good alternative or additional instrument to traditional risk factors and i.e. the Framingham risk score.

The point-of-care measurement of AGEs offers great opportunities for multiple parameters. A selection of AGE Reader applications:

    • Patient (diabetes) management: early detection of (diabetes) patients at risk by preventing diabetic complications.
    • Professional health assessment: identify individuals with an increased cardiovascular risk or risk of diabetes.
    • Clinical research in various areas (diabetes, cardiovascular disease, renal failure, and more...)
    • Monitor the effects of interventions on Advanced Glycation Endproducts.
    • General: minimizing cardiovascular risk, motivation tool for patients, therapy control.

    AGE Reader mu
The AGE Reader mu is the second generation AGE Reader that combines a high measurement quality standard with an innovative design, at a reduced price level. The AGE Reader mu is a perfect Point-of-Care tool for diabetologists and family doctors.
